Local government elections 2024

As the dedicated integrity agency for councils, the Local Government Inspectorate has oversight for the activities of councils, councillors and candidates under the electoral provisions of the Local Government Act 2020. We work in partnership with other government agencies to help ensure a fair and democratic election process.
